But there was one fanbase that edged out Chiefs fans, according to Nielsen‘s inaugural “Nielsen Scarborough NFL Fandom Index.”
Nielsen used this study to measure the best fanbases in the NFL beyond their typical ratings scale. These were following the criteria’s to determine the best fans:
Kansas City was ranked second in the fandom index with a score of 194, just behind Buffalo, which had a score of 208, and ahead of Green Bay’s 171, reflecting a trend of mid-sized towns showing ardent love for their teams.

Cincinnati and Philadelphia rounded out the top five for this list. Los Angeles and New York —America’s top two television markets — were ranked last.
