Anime NYC is just around the corner, returning to the Javits Center later this week from August 20th to the 23rd. As always, Netflix is bringing the heat and proving it remains a massive player in the anime space.
If you’re heading to the con—or just following the news from home—you will want to clear your schedule for Thursday evening (ET time). Instead of spreading things out, Netflix is packing all of its major announcements into one blockbuster mega-panel on the Main Stage.
Here is everything you need to know about Netflix’s presence at Anime NYC 2026.
The Main Event: When and Where
Netflix is officially kicking off the convention’s biggest news drops on day one.
- Panel: Netflix Presents: Cyberpunk, SAKAMOTO DAYS, LEGO ONE PIECE and More!
- When: Thursday, August 20, 2026 | 6:45 PM EST
- Where: Main Stage
- Who: JuJu Green (aka Straw Hat Goofy on TikTok) is serving as Host and MC, with special guests confirmed, including Brian Tyree Henry and Jacob Romero. Note: Mackenyu and Taz Skylar will also be present but not part of the main Netflix presentation; this is understood.
Note for attendees: Panel reservations are highly suggested for Main Stage events. If you miss out on a reservation, a standby line will open on-site, letting fans in 10 minutes prior to the panel until capacity is reached. Some Thursday tickets are still on sale at the time of publishing.
The Lineup: What’s Being Shown?
We’ve got our hands on the official teaser banner and the panel descriptions, and the slate is absolutely stacked. Here is a breakdown of the six major titles confirmed for Thursday’s presentation:
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II
Despite the definitive (and heartbreaking) ending of the first season, we are getting a sequel to Trigger’s neon-soaked masterpiece. The official tease reads: “In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?” Will we follow a completely new crew in Night City?
LEGO One Piece
Netflix’s live-action One Piece broke the anime adaptation curse, the The One Piece anime remake is in the works, and now we’re getting the Straw Hats in brick form. This project seems to be a fun, non-canon adventure, officially described as: “Usopp spins a tall tale about the Straw Hats’ journey across the East Blue into the Grand Line before Chopper joined the crew.” Expect a lot of humor and some fantastic LEGO animation.
Blue Eye Samurai (Season 2)

Mizu’s journey continues. After sweeping awards season and becoming one of Netflix’s most acclaimed animated series of the decade, Blue Eye Samurai is officially back. The teaser simply states: “Revenge does not rest. Blue Eye Samurai will return for Season 2, only on Netflix.” We are keeping our fingers crossed for an early 2027 release date or our very first teaser trailer in addition to what was recently shown at Annecy.
Sakamoto Days (Season 2)
Taro Sakamoto is returning! The panel is officially celebrating Sakamoto Days Season 2, proving just how much confidence Netflix has in this action-comedy hit. The logline teases: “Once the greatest hitman of all, Taro Sakamoto retired in the name of love. But when his past catches up, he must fight to protect his beloved family.” Expect some high-octane sneak peeks at the next chapter of the hitman-turned-convenience-store-owner’s life.
Fool Night
Netflix is diving deep into dark sci-fi with an adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda’s gripping manga, Fool Night. The story is set on a future Earth where oxygen is nearly depleted, and desperate citizens can choose to be turned into oxygen-producing plants in exchange for a massive payout. We can’t wait to see the animation style for this psychological thriller.
Bass X Machina
Rounding out the major titles is what looks to be a gritty, brand-new original series. Described as a “lawless Steampunk West filled with outlaws, machines, and supernatural threats,” the story follows a father acting as judge, jury, and executioner to protect his family. If you love dark fantasy, mecha arms, and steampunk aesthetics, keep your eyes on this one ahead of its November premiere.
