    Netflix Announces New UK Commissions at Edinburgh TV Festival

    Netflix has unveiled its most wide-ranging slate of new commissions to date, from shows that will get the whole country talking, to the most innovative content creator formats and cult fandoms that keep audiences coming back.

    The new slate seesKate Winslet,Clive OwenandBarry Keoghanjoin a stellar drama line up alongsideMaxine Peak,Anya Taylor JoyandImelda Staunton; brand new comedy from beloved writersRobert Popper(Friday Night Dinner) andLisa McGee(Derry Girls);Luke Littlerjoining forces withGary Linekerto lead the charge in live sports action, andThe Sidemenbringing their latest venture to Netflix.

    • THE UNHEARD:Tells the story of two sisters (Kate Winslet & Maxine Peake) who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes wrong. This is a brand new television drama from director Mounia Akl and writer Jack Thorne, from Warp Films, Matriarch and Plan B.

    • BEAT LUKE LITTLER:Gary Lineker will join as host and Richard Osman as expert analyst on this high-stakes live darts event that pits ambitious amateurs against the world number one: all for a chance to win £501,000. The groundbreaking live special will see 20 competitors from across the nation and beyond step up to the oche for the ultimate sporting challenge.  

    • HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY[CASTING]:Clive Owen, Orlando Norman and David Shields join Anya Taylor Joy in the series based on Bella Mackie’s bestselling novel.

    • JONNY BOY:Five-episode series from the world ofTop Boywith Barry Keoghan reprising his role as Jonny. Written and created by Ronan Bennett.

    • JAQ:From the world ofTop Boya new series centered on the character of Jaq with Jasmine Jobson set to return. Created and Based on the seriesTop Boycreated by Ronan Bennett

    • JIG:A brand new comedy series fromDerry GirlsCreator Lisa McGee.Jig, a new six-part mockumentary set in the high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing, will shoot in Northern Ireland next year. Commissioned for Netflix from Orchid Pictures

    • MARBLES:A new family comedy from Robert Popper (Friday Night Dinner) starring Robert Webb, Timothy Spall, Alexandra Roach, Denise Welch and Loo Brealey.

    • OUTSIDE:Outsideis the latest spin-off from the Sidemen’s smash-hit seriesInside. A new group of content creators are thrown into the forest to battle for a prize of up to £1 million. 

    • UNTITLED DAHL STORIES FOR ADULTS:The six-part series starring Naomi Scott, Josh Finan, Imelda Staunton, Nicola Coughlan, Toby Jones and Dominic West. The series is based on a collection of Roald Dahl’s short stories for adults which goes into production this month in Manchester and across the North of England.
