Mike Norton’s Battlepug series returns next week with the trade paperback release of Battlepug: Cosmic Doggyssey.
The upcoming collection continues the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning creator’s fantasy comedy, following the last Kindmundian and his oversized canine companion as they traverse dreamlike worlds filled with “demented danger.”
Regarding the expansion of his series, Norton stated: “This new book is my way of opening up the Battlepug universe so that I can tell all kinds of stories besides the weird fantasy that it began as. I mean, it’s still WEIRD, mind you… Only now I can do any genre I’ve ever dreamed of. That’s what Battlepug is… Just an excuse for me to draw everything I liked when I was growing up. It’s unfiltered weird kid energy!”
The trade paperback arrives at local comic shops on Wednesday, August 26, followed by a wider release at independent bookstores and major retailers—including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indigo, and Waterstones—on Tuesday, September 22. It will also be available on various digital platforms such as Kindle, Google Play, and Apple’s iBooks.
