The market for Android-based portable gaming consoles is growing rapidly as manufacturers look to challenge the popularity of the Valve Steam Deck. Lenovo has now officially unveiled its first entry in this segment: the Lenovo Cloud Gaming Handheld G700.
Unique Lenovo Legion Stream Technology
The key differentiator for the new device is its ability to stream content in offline mode. Thanks to the proprietary Lenovo Legion Stream protocol, users can stream games from a PC even without internet access. A special hardware dongle is included in the box to enable this functionality. Of course, standard cloud gaming capabilities remain available for on-the-go use.
Technical Specifications and Hardware
The device features a 7.82-inch FHD display. Despite using an LCD panel rather than the OLED screens found on some competitors, the display supports a high 1280 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by a mid-range Dimensity 7400 processor paired with an active cooling system. Memory options include 6 GB, 8 GB, or 12 GB of RAM, while internal storage is limited to 128 GB or 256 GB, with expansion possible
Battery Life and Software
The console is powered by an 8000 mAh battery, which, given the power efficiency of the chipset, should allow for long gaming sessions. Notably, the device runs on Android 16 — a feature that is not yet common for handhelds of this type.
Connectivity Options
External device and headphone connectivity includes:
- 3.5 mm audio jack;
- USB 2.0 port;
- Bluetooth 5.3 support;
- Wi-Fi 6E for high-speed data transfer.
Release Date and Pricing
Currently, the console is exclusive to the Chinese market. The price for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is 2199 Chinese Yuan (approximately $330 / €307 / 13,650 Ukrainian Hryvnia). Information regarding a global launch date is not yet available.
