Lego is expanding its lineup of Star Wars collectibles with a new model inspired by one of the franchise’s most iconic bounty hunters
The company has revealed the Lego Star Wars Boba Fett, a 1,544-piece display model based on the character’s appearance in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” Designed for builders ages 18 and older, the set stands more than 16 inches tall and is priced at $169.99
Verified IG account The Brick Post, a page for Lego enthusiasts, has shared images of what the set will look like
The figure features Boba Fett’s signature Mandalorian armor, a swiveling helmet range finder, jetpack, blaster and a fabric cape. Builders can adjust the head, arms and hands to create different poses, while the completed model stands on a base inspired by the sands of Tatooine. The set also includes a matching Boba Fett minifigure displayed alongside an information plaque
The collectible is set to be released Aug. 1 and joins Lego’s growing catalog of display sets aimed at adult fans of the Star Wars franchise
LEGO continues to expand its adult collection
The new Boba Fett model reflects Lego’s continued investment in products designed specifically for adult builders, a category that has become one of the company’s fastest-growing segments in recent years
More than 100 Lego sets are now marketed to adults, spanning pop culture franchises, architecture, botanicals, vehicles and other collectibles. According to Lego, the sets are intended to provide a creative, hands-on experience while celebrating fans’ favorite movies, TV shows and hobbies
The Boba Fett figure also supports Lego’s “Build Together” mode in the Lego Builder app, allowing friends and family to collaborate on the build using multiple devices
Why adult LEGO sets have become so popular
Adult enthusiasm for Lego has been fueled in part by nostalgia, said James Zahn, editor in chief of “The Toy Book,” who told USA TODAY many builders are reconnecting with a brand they loved growing up. LEGO’s expansion into licensed franchises such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel and DC has helped transform the company into a powerhouse among collectors by offering detailed, display-worthy sets tied to the beloved entertainment properties, he noted
Lego says many adults also turn to building as a way to relax, unplug and express their creativity. Fans interviewed by USA TODAY have described assembling the intricate models as a mindful hobby that helps them disconnect from the demands of everyday life while creating collectibles they proudly display in their homes
