Kodansha India has announced its first publishing lineup for Indian readers, with five manga titles set to be available in English. The initial selection includes A Silent Voice, Attack on Titan, Blue Lock, Gachiakuta, and Witch Hat Atelier.
The five series cover a range of genres, from sports and fantasy to darker action stories and character-driven drama. A Silent Voice follows a former school bully attempting to make amends with a deaf girl he once tormented. Attack on Titan centres on humanity’s fight for survival against giant humanoid creatures, while Blue Lock follows a programme designed to develop Japan’s next elite football striker.
The lineup also includes Gachiakuta, a dark fantasy series about a boy from a slum who is framed for murder and thrown into a dangerous wasteland, and Witch Hat Atelier, which follows a young girl who dreams of becoming a witch and discovers that magic works differently from what she was taught.
Kodansha is one of Japan’s major manga publishers, with a catalogue spanning several genres and audiences. Its titles have also inspired numerous anime adaptations, including Attack on Titan, which ran for four television seasons, and Blue Lock, whose anime adaptation began in 2022.
Kodansha India has not provided further details in the announcement about the release schedule or pricing for the five titles.
