The Joliet Public Library will host its second annual Fandom, Art & Music Expo
(FAME), a free, family-friendly mini-convention on Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring nearly 50 Chicagoland artists, cosplay, games, contests and other pop culture fun.
The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the library’s Ottawa Street Branch, 150 N. Ottawa St. Parking is available in the Ottawa Street parking deck. Admission is free. No registration is required.
Designed for fans of all ages, FAME celebrates comics, anime, <a href="https://comicvibe.com/your-next-gaming-console-could-cost-more-and-ram-is-to-blame/” title=”YOUR NEXT GAMING CONSOLE COULD COST MORE — AND RAM IS TO BLAME”>gaming, movies and pop culture while showcasing the work of area artists and bringing the community together through creativity and fandom.
“FAME is back and better than ever,” said Patrick Maloney, Digital Media Studio (DMS) manager. “Not only are we giving local artists and vendors a chance to shine and the community an awesome opportunity to support them, we’ve expanded the entertainment and fun for the whole family. This is one event you can’t afford to miss.”
Visitors can browse an artist market featuring original artwork and fan-inspired creations, attend artist panels, play Dance Dance Revolution, participate in cosplay karaoke (no costume required), compete in a cosplay contest and enjoy character meet-and-greets with photo opportunities.
