Abyssmal Entertainment and The Nacelle Company are bringing the adult animated sci-fi comedy Isla Monstro to San Diego Comic-Con 2026, fresh off its June 30th streaming release on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play.

Duke the Daunting is a broke, washed-up cruise ship magician with a Miami drug lord counting down the days until he pays up. He falls overboard and washes up on Isla Monstro, a top-secret government island overrun with mutants left over from a failed 1980s DARPA super-soldier program. Inspired by his parents, Duke convinces the island’s strange cast of creatures — including a slug-man, a sea creature, and a scientist who is literally a giant floating eyeball — to turn the abandoned military base into a first-class resort. The plan works a little too well: the island goes viral, and now both a Miami drug lord and the U.S. government want the whole thing wiped off the map.

The film sets up shop at the Isla Monstro Tiki Bar Booth (#2002) all weekend, stocked with Blu-ray, DVD, and VHS editions, a new comic book, soundtracks, merchandise, and cast-and-crew signings. Two limited-to-100 exclusives headline the booth: an O-Ring slipcover Blu-ray with art by Kevin M. Wilson and Isla Monstro Comic #1 with an exclusive Felipe Smith cover.

Off the convention floor, the “Pardy Harder in San Diego” party takes over the Madhouse Comedy Club in the Gaslamp on Thursday, July 23rd, from 9 pm to midnight — no badge or cover required, 21+. Then on Saturday, July 25th, the Isla Monstro Unleashed panel hits Room 6BCF at 7:45 pm with director/animator Steven Shea, composer Robert Reider, lead illustrator Logan Van Der Wolf, and cast members James Schrader, LeeAnna Vamp, Gigi Edgley, and Atif Myers, hosted by Danielle DeNicola.

Directed by Steven Shea (Surviving Supercon), Isla Monstrofollows Duke, a loser who falls off a cruise ship and washes up on an abandoned government island overrun with mutants from a failed 1980s DARPA super-soldier project — which he decides to turn into a world-class resort. The voice cast includes John DiMaggio, Juliana Harkavy, Harry Lennix, Harland Williams, James Marsters, Barry Bostwick, and many more. Physical media and a vinyl soundtrack arrive via MVD Entertainment Group, with a video game app on the way.
