The online game is rolling out Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. “Your mission is simple – override the system, take back the Island, and stop Geno before it’s GAME OVER,” Fortnite captions its Override trailer on YouTube.
The trailer for version 42.00 shows a game cartridge titled “Override” being plugged in as Tetris blocks begin to appear and characters from classic video game franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man and Mortal Kombat arrive.

Vice reports that the Fortnite version 42.00 will launch Aug. 20.

Sonic the Hedgehog headlines the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass taking on series villain Geno. Version 42.00 features eight new skins, including:

- Bastian
In addition, Tails from the Sonic franchise will feature in Fortnite as a sidekick, hovering in the air and following players around.
