The v42.00 update is packed with content from top to bottom. Here is a full breakdown of everything being deployed with today’s update:
New POIs and map changes:
- Geno’s HQ replaces Frosted Flats
- Sonic Green Hills Zone replaces Calamari Canyon
- Temple POI replaces Sinister Strip
- The Spire replaces the Zero Point landmark at the centre of the map
- Pac-Man Island added as a new landmark near Heatwave Harbor
- Sunken Shores receives a Tetris block makeover
New weapons and items:
- Sonic Spin Dash Mythic – lets players run at supersonic speed, even up vertical surfaces
- Tetriminos Junk Rift – summons Tetris blocks from the sky
- Mega Man Mythic – a chargeable hand cannon with a special attack
- 8-Bit Shotgun
- HJSH-18 Masamune Assault Rifle
- TKI-20 Shingen SMG
New mechanics:
- Cartridge system – find a cartridge in a match, insert it into a terminal to grant a buff that affects all players on the island.
- Hacking terminals – interact with terminals to unlock weapons, items, and complete weekly quests
Override Battle Pass:
- The Override Battle Pass launches featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, Geno, a customisable Tetris skin, a Warrior with Sword and Shield, a Kart Racer, a Soldier skin, an original Fighter skin, and one additional mystery skin. A new Sidekick is also included in the pass.
New Sprites:
- A brand-new generation of Sprites is available to find and collect, including Bushranger, Sonic, Tails, Jazz Jackrabbit, Klombo, Killswitch, Crown, and one unknown Sprite. The Sprite Garden UEFN experience also goes live today alongside the new season.
