Hamilton, Ohio, took the difficult route to play for a spot in the U.S. championship game at the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series, winning four straight games after opening the tournament with a walk-off loss. On Thursday, Hamilton faces Davenport, Iowa, which took its first loss on Wednesday, at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Hamilton returned to the LLBWS for the fourth time since 2007 and its first visit since a runner-up finish in 2021. Davenport’s Northwest Little League made it back to Williamsport for the first time since consecutive appearances in 2004-05.

Ohio erupted for four runs in the top of the first and cruised to an 11-2 elimination victory over Phenix City, Alabama, on Wednesday night. Ohio chipped away at Alabama, finishing with 12 hits — all singles — while also drawing eight walks. Its first two runs scored on an error before Bob Frazier and Walker Osborne worked bases-loaded walks. Frazier and Finn Dykes added RBI singles in the third and Ohio finished the rout with a run on a passed ball, a fielder’s choice RBI by Hunter Vonderheide, a sacrifice fly from Boone Treadway and Leo Feltner’s RBI single. Bryson Williams worked the final four innings, allowing a run on four hits while fanning four.
After opening the tournament with consecutive shutout wins, Iowa’s Cooper Thissen worked 3.2 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts on Wednesday. But when he left the game, Henderson, Nevada, rolled up 14 runs in a 14-6 victory to clinch a spot in the U.S. final. Trailing 14-0 entering the bottom of the sixth, Iowa got a two-run double from Kannon Kane, an RBI single by Caleb Erwin and a run-scoring double by Xavier Ludtke before the rally ended.
The winner advances to play Nevada in Saturday’s U.S. final.
