Hamilton West Side Little League has a chance at history this afternoon.
No Ohio team has ever won a U.S. championship at the Little League World Series. Hamilton West Side could be the first with a win later today.
Ohio will play Nevada on Saturday, Aug. 29, in the Little League World Series U.S. finals. The game will start at 3:30 p.m. and will be aired live on ABC.
West Side comes in off an explosive 7-1 victory against Iowa, the fifth straight elimination game win for Hamilton. West Side’s persistent offense has overwhelmed opponents through the elimination bracket, which sets up a rematch with Nevada for a trip to the World Series Championship.
Nevada got the better of Ohio in their first-round matchup, delivering a walk-off single to win 6-5. That was the closest anyone has played Nevada. They reached the U.S. finals by defeating Washington 5-0 and Iowa 14-6.
Hamilton manager Tim Nichting said his team is champing at the bit for the revenge game.
“Yeah, they beat us, but we think we’re better than they are,” Nichting said. “We want to go out and prove it on the field. The kids are going to go out and play their hearts out.”

Little League watch parties taking place in Hamilton, Harrison
At least two public Little League watch parties are being hosted across Greater Cincinnati for the U.S. finals on Saturday.
In Hamilton, Municipal Brew Works will host a patio watch party for the 3:30 p.m. first pitch, with a giant TV outside. Though the brewery does not make food, the Fatto A Mano Wood Fired Pizza truck will be available outside from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lawn chairs are welcome.
In Harrison, Clutch Roadhouse is hosting a watch party starting at 3:30 p.m. That game will be shown on the TVs inside the bar. Drinks will consist of beer and cocktail selections.
