Fortnitemares 2026 is here and there are many collaborations, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. But one such “collab” of sorts you may not expect is with real-life viral raccoon, Jimothy. Yep, he’s in Fortnite and earnable as Sidekick – but the best part? He’s completely free. This IGN guide teaches you how to unlock the Jimothy Sidekick in Fortnite, including exact steps and all Jimothy quests to get additional rewards.
How to Get Free Jimothy Sidekick in Fortnite
To unlock the free Jimothy Sidekick in Fortnite, you must find and extract a Dumpster Dive Sprite. There are four variants alongside the base version, and you can extract any of them to unlock it.

How to Find a Dumpster Dive Sprite
Dumpster Dive Sprites are found in Cheat Codes and from looting chests. Like other Sprites, it’s a random chance you’ll get one, so don’t expect to find one instantly unless you’re really lucky. We found ours in a Cheat Code.
Alternatively, the Freddy Krueger boss in Nightmare Neighborhood drops a Dumpster Dive Sprite when eliminated, among other goodies.
But note that because this is a new point-of-interest, it’s a hotspot so you’ll almost always have to fight and survive skirmishes with other players there. If you can pull it off, it’s a sure-fire way of obtaining the Sprite.

Once you’ve found a Dumpster Dive Sprite, extract it by either:
- Winning a match with it equipped or in your inventory
- Calling an Extraction Crate at an Extraction Site
- Using a Portable Extractor
When you’ve extracted it, you’ll get a notification in the top-left corner that reads, “QUEST COMPLETE. NEW JIMOTHY!” – that’s how you know you’ve successfully unlocked the Sidekick.
Return to the lobby and you’ll get your Jimothy Sidekick reward.
Jimothy Quests and Rewards
Like other Sidekicks, Jimothy has a set of quests that unlock rewards. All they require is for you to earn a specific number of Sidekick Points, which is done by simply equipping him and playing matches.
The Jimothy Quests and rewards are as follows:

The Jimothy Heart Reaction and Celebrity Trash Panda Sidekick Emote are equippable to Jimothy himself and he can use them when you interact with him in a match. It’s super cute!
