There’s so much to pack from Fortnite‘s newest version of the Halloween-celebrating spectacle. The month-long build-up to spooky season begins with Fortnitemares. The update added a new gun: The Bonerattler SMG. You need to use it to great effect.

How to Get Bonerattler SMG in Fortnite—Locations, Explained

The easiest way to find a Bonerattler SMG is to either find it on the floor as ground loot or open chests scattered around the map in Fortnite.

Fortunately, the Bonerattler is not a Legendary or hard-to-find weapon. It’s treated as a common, in fact, making it quite easy to get a hold of. You’re likely to come across many in most matches.

I found my first one as ground loot after dropping into the revised Fortnite map. I also found more in chests and on the bodies of fallen players as loot as well. Any avenue should be easy enough to follow to get the SMG.

How to Damage Opponents With Bonerattler SMG in Fortnite

Simply shoot enemy or AI soldiers whilst you have the Bonerattler SMG equipped, and once you’ve done 500 cumulative damage, the challenge will be marked as complete.

If you’re not as capable battling real-life players in Fortnite, don’t worry; shooting and damaging AI foes counts just the same.

Find upgraded versions of the gun with greater rarity—or use a vending machine to increase rarity—to increase your damage output and complete this challenge quicker!

Rewards For Completing Damage Opponents with the Bonerattler SMG Quest in Fortnite

Completing this weekly quest rewards you with 15,000 XP and counts toward the season-long Fortnitemares Quests, earning you greater rewards as you go.
