Going down the Halloween memory lane with some iconic cosplays by K-idols

BTS as Snow White and the six dwarfs
As iconic, and at the same time, as meme-worthy as it can get! For their Halloween-special dance practice video of the September 2017 song Go Go, the seven members recreated signature looks from Disney’s animated version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Quite aptly, BTS’s “prince” Taehyung dressed up in the princess’s avatar, with the six other members cosplaying as dwarfs.
Lisa as Younghee and Jisoo as Lisa!
Another unforgettable Halloween look by the BLACKPINK duo created in October 2021 saw Jisoo dress up as fellow member Lisa in the LALISA music video avatar. Lisa herself dressed up as the Younghee doll from the Netflix series Squid Game.
Younghoon and Changhee as Corpse Bride Characters
The Boyz duo decked up for a Halloween 2021 promotional shoot, cosplaying the Corpse Bride characters Victor Van Dort and Emily. While Younghoon portrayed Victor in a crisp formal ensemble, Chanhee went all out with blue face paint to portray Emily, also recreating her iconic popping eyes and slanting eyebrows.
Another K-town diva who cosplayed Younghee is Giselle. The Aespa member dressed up in an orange frock with Younghee’s familiar twin ponies during the 2021 SMTOWN Wonderland Halloween Party.
Aespa’s Karina as Queen of Hearts
At SM’s 2021 Halloween extravaganza, Giselle’s groupmate Karina turned up with her too. While Giselle transformed into Younghee, Karina cosplayed the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, a character made iconic by Helena Bonham Carter’s unforgettable performance.
The SHINee member transformed into Lord Voldemort, the major dark magician and antagonist from the Harry Potter franchise for SM’s 2018 Halloween party. Although he was not physically present at the extravaganza, life-sized cutouts of the artiste decked up as Voldemort were sent for the spooky spectacle.
For SM Entertainment’s online Halloween party in October 2021, Sungchan of boy group RIIZE recreated the protagonist’s look from the 2019 blockbuster Joker. The artiste was next to unrecognisable in the character’s look, with heavy face paint and makeup, the iconic messy fluffy and a colourful outfit.
During girl group TWICE’s Halloween 2 fan meeting hosted in October 2019, leader Jihyo cosplayed Miguel Rivera, a character from the animated film Coco. To recreate the look perfectly, Jihyo painted her face with the iconic white and black Dia de los Muertos skeleton makeup. She also closely adhered to the character’s style statement with a red hoodie with striped sleeves, denims, a white t-shirt and carried Hector’s signature white acoustic guitar.
