Portland is about to lean all the way into its weird, wonderful and wacky side, with a citywide party that puts geek culture front and center. David Raycroft, founder of Geek Week PDX, joined us to share the details on the citywide celebration of geek culture that brings together fans, creators, artists, businesses and communities from across Portland and the Pacific Northwest. From gaming and comics to technology, art, fandom, science, cosplay and beyond, Geek Week PDX spotlights the people, places and passions that make Portland uniquely creative and welcoming.

One of the standout events is the Sneaky Sasquatch PDX Art Hunt, a citywide adventure featuring original work from more than 25 local artists. From tiny Sasquatches to a 200-pound ballerina Sasquatch, the Art Hunt sends visitors across Portland to discover hidden artwork in local businesses and public spaces. Organizers describe it as a colorful, highly visual celebration of Portland artists and the wonderfully weird things that happen when geek culture takes over the city.

Geek Week PDX also has a fundraising component. Join in the fun at the Warrior Princess Party on September 19th. benefitting OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
