MUMBAI: Fortnite is putting a new spin on mobile gaming, and this time the controller is joining the battle. Peripheral maker GameSir has teamed up with Epic Games to launch a Fortnite-themed collection of mobile controllers, pairing familiar hardware with in-game rewards.
The collection includes Fortnite editions of the GameSir G8 Plus and GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox. The controllers combine Fortnite-inspired designs with features aimed at bringing a more console-like experience to mobile players, while each model also comes with a digital in-game bonus.
The G8 Plus Fortnite edition is the more feature-packed option, with drift-resistant Hall effect sticks, mappable rear buttons and console-inspired ergonomics. It also supports multiple platforms, giving players flexibility beyond a single device.
The digital bonus varies according to the controller purchased and can include Fortnite emotes such as Bully, Burpee and Gun Show, adding an in-game extra to the hardware purchase.
The X5 Lite for Xbox takes a more portable route, with an ultra-lightweight design, responsive wired performance and controls optimised for mobile gaming. Its digital bonuses differ from those bundled with the G8 Plus, with players able to receive items including the Extra Cheese Glider and Storm Sigil Glider.
The G8 Plus Fortnite edition is available to preorder from GameSir’s website for $89.99, while the X5 Lite for Xbox is priced at $49.99. Both controllers are being offered through GameSir’s official website.
The collaboration gives Fortnite players another way to carry the game’s visual identity beyond the screen, turning two familiar mobile gaming peripherals into themed extensions of the Fortnite experience.
GameSir has also recently expanded its controller portfolio through a collaboration with Hyperkin, which resulted in the X5 Alteron, a transforming gamepad designed for devices including the Switch 2, tablets, phones and PCs.
