8Bitdo Ultimate 2 at Near 20% Off Is a No-Brainer Compared to the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been out in the wild now for more than a year. It’s catalogue of exclusive games are growing fast. Available now, we have major hits like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong: Bananza, and Pokémon Pokopia. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave just landed this month. Later this year, we’ll be getting the long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake and next year we have Metroid: Ravenous to look forward to. Nintendo players are eating good. If you have a Switch 2 (or are getting one soon), now’s a great time to expand your arsenal of accessories for the handheld console hybrid.

8Bitdo has its alternative to the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller on sale at the moment for 17% off. The 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 controller is normally sold at the price of $70, but the discount ends up taking it down to just $58. That’s a savings of $12 for a limited time.

The official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller is still pretty pricey, sitting at its full MSRP of $80. 8Bitdo is one of the best third party controller manufacturers in the game. The Ultimate 2 is a worthy alternative to what Nintendo makes and sells themselves, and you can now grab it for $22 less than the official option.

While 8Bitdo makes a ton of controllers and accessories catered toward nostalgic players that miss the form factor of their gamepads growing up in the 90s, the Ultimate 2 represents 8Bitdo’s flagship product made for modern gamers and meeting the needs of today’s games.

The build quality for the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 is phenomenal. It makes use of TMR joysticks which offer higher sensitivity, greater precision, and enhanced durability. Nintendo has a track record for joysticks failing over time, but that should be a none issue here with the 8Bitdo controller. The joysticks also have RGB rings around them for added personality.

The 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 is not just compatible with the Switch and Switch 2, but you can also use it with Windows PCs. They support vibrations as well as full motion control (when used on a Nintendo Switch console).

You can switch the trigger mode you are using between between linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers, providing you with greater control and performance across different types of games.

Integrated Charging Dock

Something extra this comes with that the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller does not is an integrated charging dock. You can just set your controller down in the dock when not in use so that next time you grab it to play, you’ll be working with full battery.
