First-Ever Penrith Comic Con Lands This Sunday with Cosplay, Gaming and Family Fun
Comic book fans, gamers, film lovers and families are set for a day of action-packed entertainment this weekend as the first-ever Penrith Comic Con lands at Penrith Leisure Centre on Sunday, 9th August.
Organised by Bolt Events, the family-friendly convention promises a full day celebrating comics, films, television, gaming and pop culture, with organisers hoping to bring the local community together for an affordable and inclusive event packed with entertainment for all ages.
Doors open at 11am, with the event running until 4pm, giving visitors the chance to meet fellow fans, explore stalls and take part in a range of interactive activities.
There will be plenty to see and do throughout the day, including impressive cosplay, retro gaming, independent traders and artists, movie props, a green screen experience, interactive workshops and character appearances. Visitors can also take part in a cosplay competition, giving fans of all ages the chance to dress up as their favourite characters and compete for prizes.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s event, the organisers said: “Penrith Comic Con is all about bringing the local community together for a fun, affordable and family-friendly day out. We love creating events that everyone can enjoy, whether you’re a lifelong comic book fan or simply looking for something different to do with the family.”
They added: “Visitors can expect a fantastic mix of cosplay, movie props, retro gaming, traders, a green screen experience and character appearances throughout the day. There will also be a cosplay competition, giving attendees of all ages the chance to get involved and celebrate their favourite characters.”
The organisers also revealed they are delighted that the Mayor of Penrith will be attending the event, saying it highlights the importance of bringing community events like this to the town.
Looking ahead, they hope this weekend’s event is just the beginning. “As this is our very first Penrith Comic Con, we’re incredibly excited and hope it becomes a regular fixture that local families and fans can enjoy for years to come,” they said.

With superheroes, sci-fi icons and gaming favourites all set to descend on Penrith this Sunday, organisers are encouraging people to dust off their costumes and join in what promises to be one of the town’s most colourful family events of the summer.
