Jonathan Hickman is helping build a new Marvel Universe, so you knew I had to ask.

Yes, the Midnight Universe will have data pages.
During the AIPT Comics podcast conversation with Midnight Fantastic Four writer Benjamin Percy and Midnight Spider-Man writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson, I asked the pair whether their books would embrace the storytelling device that has become closely associated with Hickman’s Marvel work.
The answer was immediate.
“Yep,” Percy confirmed.
In fact, the creators were discussing how the pages would work the same day we spoke.
“We’re actually just discussing the formatting of those today,” Percy said.
Johnson revealed that his initial ideas may have pushed the concept in an unexpected direction.
“Mine, the ones I put in there, probably were a little bit outside of the box of what we were intending to do, so we’re still kind of sorting out the details,” Johnson said. “But yeah, there are gonna be data pages.”
The addition makes plenty of sense given how closely the three writers are working behind the scenes. Hickman, Percy, and Johnson meet through regular Zoom calls, communicate through Slack, and have participated in larger story summits with Marvel editorial as they map out the Midnight Universe.
Johnson also described Hickman as “the consummate world builder,” specifically pointing toward his focus on back matter and backstory as the three creators develop their new universe together.

Exactly what information will fill those data pages remains to be seen, especially since Johnson and Percy indicated the format was still being worked out. Given just how much new history, mythology, science, and horror the three books are introducing, however, there should be no shortage of material.
The Midnight Universe launches October 7 withMidnight X-Men #1,Midnight Fantastic Four #1, and Midnight Spider-Man #1.
