HarperCollins Publishers today announced the launch of its US manga initiative, KAZÉ, a collaborative, creator-focused imprint dedicated to publishing the latest and most exciting manga, manhwa, and manhua for English-language readers.
KAZÉ originated in France as an anime and manga publisher and distributor before its acquisition by HarperCollins.
In partnership with the market-leading KAZÉ publishers in France and Germany, KAZÉ US will build on the brand’s legacy of trust, artistry, and quality, delivering an exceptional selection of manga for readers of all ages.
Launching in Fall 2027 under the leadership of HarperAlley and KAZÉ Publisher Andrew Arnold, KAZÉ US will publish a wide range of manga, including shonen, shojo, seinen, josei, and beyond. The publishing list will feature both beloved and standout new titles ready to find their English-language audience.
“We’re thrilled to expand KAZÉ to the US,” said Brian Murray, president and CEO of HarperCollins. “Building on our established presence in Japan and our successful relaunch of KAZÉ in Germany and France last year, our publishing teams will continue to work collaboratively to elevate the brand and drive growth in the English-language market.”
“I’m excited to launch KAZÉ in the US and expand HarperCollins’s publishing into the manga space,” says Arnold. “Alongside the renowned international KAZÉ teams, we will champion all categories of manga for English-language readers. We are excited to honor the creative freedom and storytelling excellence that the KAZÉ brand has always represented and provide the passionate manga audience in the US with publishing that emphasizes artistry, quality, and fun.”
In collaboration with the international KAZÉ teams, Arnold, along with editors Josh Sippie and Emilia Sowersby, will also acquire titles for KAZÉ US.
KAZÉ is the latest manga imprint under a major book publisher from Yen Press at Hatchette and Kana at Abrams. There’s no word yet on which manga will be their initial offerings, but The Beat will keep you up to date when they are announced.
