KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH to be published in English for the first time

Next week, on Tuesday, August 25^th, 2026, the sequel to the middle grade novel Kiki’s Delivery Serviceby Eiko Kadono, Kiki and the New Magic, will be published in English for the first time. And in advance of that release, Delacorte Press has announced that the third novel in the series, Kiki and the Other Witch, will be published in English for the first time in February 2027.

Kiki’s Delivery Service was originally published in Japan in 1985 and is well-known for having been adapted by Studio Ghibli in 1989. Alongside the release of Kiki and the New Magic, the Kiki’s Delivery Service Deluxe Editionwill also be published.

Like Kiki and the New Magic, the first English language publication of Kiki and the Other Witch was translated by Emily Balistrieri and features illustrations by Yuta Onoda. Here’s the official description of the second sequel from the publisher:

“In this highly anticipated third installment, KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH, sixteen-year-old Kiki meets twelve-year-old Keke, a free-spirited girl with unexpected powers who throws Kiki’s world into chaos. As Keke challenges Kiki’s sense of identity as a witch, Kiki embarks on a new journey of self-discovery, uncovering the true essence of her powers and what matters most. Full of warmth, wonder, and gentle humor, the novel explores growing up, finding confidence in yourself, and embracing change while staying true to who you are.”

Arriving in Spring 2027
