Texas (KETK)– Hundreds of comic book enthusiasts and superhero fans gathered at the Longview Exhibit Center over the weekend for the annual East Texas Comic Con
The event, which ran from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening, included several special guests, including famous voice actors Vic Mignogna and Michael Sorich, as well as former Power Ranger Karan Ashley.

Many vendors from across the country were also at the event selling comic books, merchandise and trading cards. A cosplay competition was also held, giving attendees the opportunity to dress like their favorite superhero or villain.

The director of this year’s East Texas Comic Con, Javier Torres, spoke about what makes the event unique for those who attended.
“We serve as a gathering place for different fans of different things where they can meet and interact with people who may have the same interest as they do and may not have met otherwise,” Torres said.
This was the third year in a row the event was held in Longview and Torres said the city plans to host next year’s East Texas Comic Con as well.
