Sony has announced the Prism Collection, a line of transparent DualSense controllers priced at $84.99 and PS5 console covers at $74.99, with pre-orders opening on 10 November 2026 and a release starting on 4 February 2027, according to <a href="https://blog.playstation.com/2026/10/28/first-look-inside-the-prism-collection-with-three-new-transparent-designs-for-ps5-accessories/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>a post on the PlayStation Blog dated 28 October 2026.

The controllers and covers come in three colours: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray.

Isabelle Tomatis, vice president of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, wrote that the collection grew from the design teams’ interest in giving the PS5 a transparent appearance. She said it offers players “a closer look into the design and craftsmanship behind our DualSense controllers and PlayStation 5 consoles”. Each colour has a glossy finish.

Leo Cardoso, one of the designers behind the line, said: “We wanted to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late ’90s in a fresh, modern way that complements the PS5’s industrial design.”

He works on Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish design team alongside Satoshi Aoyagi, who also contributed to the post.

Aoyagi said the clear finish “extends across the back of the controller” and that the middle cover has a metallic finish. He described the orange as taking on “a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps”, the green as “a deep hunter green” and the gray as “a cool-toned storm gray”.

    Prices and where to buy

The DualSense controllers carry a recommended retail price of $84.99, £74.99 or €84.99, and Sony says they will be sold globally. In Japan the price is ¥12,480 including tax.

The matching console covers cost $74.99, £64.99 or €74.99, with a Japanese price of ¥9,980 including tax, which puts them $10 below the controllers.

Sony will sell the covers only through its own store in 11 countries: the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal and Italy. In other regions they will reach select retailers in limited quantities. The post adds that actual retailer prices and availability may vary.

    Two dates to note

Pre-orders open on 10 November 2026. In the US, that means 7am Pacific or 10am Eastern through direct.playstation.com. In the 10 European countries on the same list, orders open at 10am local time through playstation.com/store/hardware. Participating retailers will also take pre-orders from that day.

Sony says the exact launch date and availability of the accessories may vary by country or region.

The Prism Collection launches starting on 4 February 2027.
