The new Disney+ pilot introduces 11 aspiring Mouseketeers while reviving the talent showcase that helped launch Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Keri Russell.
Disney is bringing back The Mickey Mouse Club, one of its most iconic talent showcases. The series that launched the careers of stars including Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Keri Russell is being rebooted for Disney+ with a brand-new cast of young performers.
The revival will introduce the long-running series to a new generation while continuing its tradition of showcasing emerging actors, singers, dancers, and entertainers.
Disney+ has ordered a pilot for the revival, with production set to begin this month in Los Angeles. The project is being produced by Fulwell Entertainment, the company behind Hulu’s The Kardashians.
It is executive produced by Fulwell Entertainment co-founder Ben Winston, best known for his work on The Late Late Show with James Corden and his upcoming role as creative director for LA28. He is joined by executive producers Ashley Edens, Emma Conway, and Dave Piendak.
According to Disney, the new series will serve as “a showcase for today’s most talented young performers, where music, innovation and self-expression take center stage,” while introducing a new generation of entertainers to audiences.
The pilot will introduce 11 aspiring Mouseketeers, featuring a mix of rising actors, singers, and performers. The lineup includes Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, and Brooklynn Pitts, who will all appear in Disney’s upcoming Camp Rock 3, alongside Erianthe Akaata (Young Rock), Scarlett London Diviney (The Lion King), Michael Cash (Black Rabbit), Yonas Kibreab (Elio), Varonica Mitchell, Kauani, Scarlett Grace Petty, and Carter Barnes.
Created by Walt Disney, The Mickey Mouse Club debuted as a television series on ABC in 1955 before returning in syndication from 1977 to 1979 and again on Disney Channel in 1989.
That 1989–1996 version became one of the most influential children’s television shows of its era, launching the careers of future superstars including Spears, Timberlake, Aguilera, Gosling, and Russell, as well as NSYNC member JC Chasez, En Vogue singer Rhona Bennett, actress Nikki DeLoach, pop artist Chase Hampton, and voice actress Deedee Magno.
Russell famously joked in 2023 that she was “literally the least talented one there,” highlighting the remarkable success of her fellow castmates.
The franchise most recently returned in 2017 as Club Mickey Mouse, a digital-first series <a href="https://comicvibe.com/kamui-hes-behind-you-episode-3-story-preview-cuts-released/” title=”Kamui: He's Behind You Episode 3 Story & Preview Cuts Released”>released across social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
Disney+ has ordered only a pilot at this stage, and additional information about the project’s format, production schedule, and potential series release has not yet been announced.
