Fans of “Detective Conan” have long been waiting for the finale of the series to get the answers to the story’s major mysteries. After over three decades, it seems that they will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Manga creator Gosho Aoyama recently revealed that he has already drafted the thumbnail layouts for the manga’s final chapter.
According to Anime News Network, Aoyama made the revelation during an interview segment on YTV’s “24-Jikan Terebi Saishin Joho SP” recently, where he appeared alongside singers Taiga Kyomoto and Chanmina.
During the segment, Chanmina shared that she tends to plan her life by starting with the end goal and working backward. She asked Aoyama if he approaches his work in the same way.
“I have drafted the thumbnail layouts for the final chapter [of Detective Conan],” Aoyama replied.
He also teased that the draft is “entertaining,” offering fans another intriguing hint about the highly anticipated conclusion of the series.
“Detective Conan,” also known as “Case Closed,” has been running since 1994 and centers on teenage detective Shinichi Kudo, who is forced to take on the identity of a child after being poisoned by a mysterious criminal organization.
He adopts the name Conan Edogawa as he continues solving cases while searching for a way to return to his original form.
The manga has surpassed 1,000 chapters and has been collected in 108 tankobon volumes. It was adapted into anime in 1996 and has aired more than 1,000 episodes.
It has also spawned successful movie spinoffs. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA News
