    NEWS
DC EXTENDS ‘ABSOLUTE GREEN ARROW’ TO 12 ISSUES
First Issue Debuted at Number 2 in Direct Market Charts
Posted by Brigid Alverson on July 16, 2026 @ 8:54 am CT

DC has extended the run of Absolute Green Arrow to 12 issues from the six that were originally planned, writer Pornsak Pichetshote announced on Instagram. Rafael Albuquerque is the artist for the series. Absolute Green Arrow #1, which debuted in May, took the number 2 spot in both unit and dollar sales in comic shops, according to combined ComicHub and Comic Shop Assistant data (see “Top 50 Comics – May 2026”), topped only by Absolute Batman #20. Absolute Green Arrow #2 placed in the top five on both charts in June (see “Top 50 Comics – June 2026”).

“I wasn’t prepared to believe this book would even exist, because back when I was a [DC Comics] employee, the company felt nowhere near bold enough to publish something like this,” Pichetshote wrote in the Instagram post, crediting series architect Scott Snyder and the DC editors for the success of the series.

DC announced Absolute Green Arrow at ComicsPRO in February 2026 (see “DC Announces New Absolute and Next Level Titles”). The series is a slasher horror story that spins out of Absolute Evil #1 and follows Dinah Lance as she tracks a serial killer who leaves green arrows in the bodies of his victims.
