BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) —A Bensalem Township man is facing dozens of charges in connection with several reported cases of sexual assault of kids under the age of 16, according to the police department.
Valeed Anjum, 27, was arrested on Oct. 1 and charged with several counts of:
- Unlawful sexual contact with a minor
- Sexual abuse contact/communication with a minor
- Media of child on computer knowing committing sexual acts
- Child sexual abuse material
- Unlawful contact with a minor—obscene and other sexual materials and performances
- Criminal use of communication facility
- Distribution of explicit sexual act with a minor
According to a news release, detectives with the Bensalem Township Police Department learned that Anjum had reportedly been using Snapchat and Roblox accounts to contact several minors between the ages of 10 and 15.
Anjum, who is also known as “Puma,” is believed to have used the Snapchat usernames “poomdoom69” and “brain.rotty.”
During its investigation, the department said it identified at least five victims nationwide, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
The police said Anjum supposedly sent explicit photographs to the kids he was contacting and, in some instances, paid them to send explicit photos of themselves to him.
He was taken into custody at his home and, while speaking with detectives, Anjum admitted that earlier this year, he met with a 12-year-old girl in New Jersey and engaged in sexual acts with her, according to the release.
Anjum is also being charged in Gloucester County in connection with that reported encounter, the police said.
He was assigned a bail of 10% of $10,000,000 and sent to a correctional facility in Bucks County, where he’s expected back in court at 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 15.
