Lauren Alaina credits her small town upbringing for her work ethic and faith
When speaking with Fox News Digital, Alaina said she comes “from a long line of hardworking people and believers” who taught her the importance of “working hard and having a strong faith.”

Country singer Lauren Alaina is thankful for her small town roots and the lessons they taught her.
During a recent interview with Fox News Digital, the 31-year-old singer spoke about her upcoming album, “Stages,” and shared why she credits growing up in Rossville, Georgia for her success and her work ethic.
“I come from a long line of hardworking people and believers and dreamers in their own way, whatever their path was,” she said. “Mine obviously looked very different than the rest of my family because my working hard and my dreaming was leaving home and going to a new place, which people don’t do a ton in Rossville, Georgia.”
She explained that not only did she learn the importance of working hard from growing up in her small town, but also of “being kind, being grateful [and] being funny,” saying she got her “sense of humor from back home for sure.”

One of “the biggest lessons” she learned, growing up in her small town, is to keep “working hard and being kind to people, and if you work hard, it pays off.”
“I do think my work ethic definitely came from watching every one of my family. My mom worked really hard, my dad worked really hard, and my grandparents. They all had very different careers and different lives, but they just worked really hard and they kept their faith strong.”
As an adult, she is now “thankful” to have grown up where she did and to have a strong faith and work ethic as some of the things were instilled in her throughout her upbringing.
Alaina is gearing up for the release of her fourth studio album, “Stages,” which she calls “a deeply personal album,” which covers three different phases of her life.

“It feels like it represents me fully because I feel like I finally landed in the place of who I am supposed to be in this stage of my life,” she said. “And I was able to kind of take a look back and share all of my stories. I’m really proud of it. It’s a deeply personal album. It’s really fun too. It’s not overly serious. It is serious in parts and carefree and my mid 20s in parts and represents my hometown in parts as well. So I’m very proud of that.”
The “Road Less Traveled” singer admits that each stage was hard for her to revisit, be it her parents’ divorce, navigating heartbreak and losing her father unexpectedly.

There are bright spots in there too, including when she met her husband and when she welcomed her daughter.
“I closed the album with a song called ‘Heaven Sent,’ which is one of my favorites, and it’s about my dad sending my daughter for me to help me heal and move forward,” she said. “But the songs about my dad are definitely the hardest. It’s the biggest loss I’ve ever gone through. It’s still very hard, but the songs about him are incredibly difficult.”

When speaking with Fox News Digital, Alaina said if she could go back and talk to her 15-year-old self, she would tell her, “Thank you so much because this decision you’re making changes your life so much.”
“All the things that you dream of having, you get them,” she said. “I mean, the journey obviously looked completely different than my 15-year-old self could have ever imagined, and there were highs, there were lows, there were ups, there was downs, but I wish I could just tell her about the stage of life I’m in now. Where my career’s doing really well. I have this amazing husband and this beautiful little girl and, like all of our dreams came true.”
