A new cocktail bar with pop culture-inspired drinks will open by the end of the month in Bend’s Central District, with daytime specialty coffee to follow.
UN/COMMON Cocktail Cafe will replace Canteen, Campfire Hotel’s former bar. The menu will feature classic cocktails but also drinks based on pop culture themes.

“There’s a heavy influence of pop culture that I just grew up with. I’m an ’80s kid, and when I started developing these menus, I wanted to make it ridiculous and fun,” Fox said. “We did a Lord of the Rings menu, and I think we sold 22,000 cocktails in four months. The cocktail cafe will spin vinyl records all day. UN/COMMON will open starting with cocktails by Nov. 20. Fox and his team plans to launch a similar, daytime concept with pop-culture themed coffee drinks by late January.
“It’s like a cocktail bar, but instead of alcohol, it’s espresso,” Fox said.
Keagan Parks, general manager at Campfire Hotel said in an email, “We’re really excited to see UN/COMMON become part of the Campfire Hotel experience and the Bend community. When the previous operators left, we knew we wanted to bring something new and different to the space. The direction the UN/COMMON team has taken that space is directly in line with not only our style, but also with what our guests have been wanting for quite some time.”
