- Character-themed accessories are blurring the lines between collectibles and everyday fashion
- The limited-edition BABY-G watch carries a P8,930 price tag
- Philippine sales will begin online before expanding to physical stores
Casio is banking on the growing appeal of character-based collectibles to attract watch enthusiasts and fashion-conscious consumers, as established brands explore new ways to turn pop culture fandom into demand for lifestyle accessories.
The Japanese watchmaker is introducing a P8,930 Baby Molly collaboration watch under its BABY-G line in the Philippines, combining traditional timepiece functionality with the collectible appeal of a popular POP MART character.

The collaboration highlights how consumer brands are tapping established fan communities to differentiate their products and reach buyers who value character-driven designs alongside everyday functionality.
Baby Molly is the childhood version of MOLLY, a character associated with Hong Kong-listed POP MART, whose portfolio includes collectible brands such as THE MONSTERS, SKULLPANDA and CRYBABY.
Character collaborations offer watchmakers opportunities to reach audiences beyond traditional watch enthusiasts, particularly consumers interested in designer toys, fashion accessories and collectible merchandise.
For collectors, the appeal extends beyond practical use to the emotional connection associated with recognizable characters and limited-edition designs.

The BGD-10KPM-7 is based on Casio’s BABY-G+PLUS series and features a yellow bezel inspired by Baby Molly’s hair, character illustrations and an LCD display that reveals blue eyes when illuminated.
The watch can also be converted into a bag charm using a detachable pink holder.
In an Oct. 22 company release, Casio said the model features an engraving commemorating MOLLY’s 20th anniversary, alongside shock-resistant construction and 10-bar water resistance.
The limited-edition watch will initially be available exclusively through Casio Philippines’ online store before reaching G-SHOCK stores nationwide.
The company has yet to announce the official release date, with further availability details expected through its website and social media channels.
