Long before he was affectionately coined Mr. Dua Lipa online, Callum Turner’s been around in this business, making movies and TV shows that a lot of people missed in the earlier days. While he hasn’t done too many mainstream properties, he’s got remarkable range thus far, and much of what he’s in is interestingly different than the one before, even if the genres seem similar. For instance, despite the fact that The Fantastic Beastsmovies aren’t that great, Turner and the entire cast are the best parts of them.

From romances to period pieces in different eras, Callum Turner has something for every kind of viewer. He’s also got some neat projects lined up, and things that’ll be announced later down the line, so before Neuromancer(2027) hits your screens, here are some of Callum Turner’s best movies and TV roles, as well as where you can stream them on platforms like Apple TV, Prime Video, and more.

    Emma.

    IMDB

As one of Jane Austen’s longest and most complex stories, Emmatypically isn’t for everyone, and neither are its adaptations in a sense. (This pains me personally because it’s my favorite.) Still, Autumn de Wilde’s Emma gives it some of the vibrancy and drama through a more modern lens, despite the period setting, costumes, and locations. It’s a lot like Bridgerton (2020) to a degree, except Wilde’s vision is so remarkably distinct you’ll wish it were a show instead.

Turner plays the elusive Frank Churchill, and while it’s generally a small role compared to our main hero, Mr. Knightley, he’s as memorable as the character should be. There should be an aura about him—a sense of mystery, which we not only get within the film but through Turner’s performances every time he’s on screen.

    War and Peace
    War and Peace

As more of a historical piece than Emma,Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace really is for the people who love the genre deeply as opposed to those who appreciate it casually. It’s gritty, dark, and dense at times, yet riveting through and through as an adaptation that does its best to depict the events of the text.

Turner plays Prince Anatole Kuragin, an antagonist and the kind of aristocrat who’s hard to like, yet everything about his embodiment is incredible to show off his chops as an actor. The limited series also stars a number of great actors like Lily James, Paul Dano, James Norton, Jack Lowden, and more, with each of them bringing something unique to the role.

    Eternity
    Eternity

My immediate thoughts after watching Eternity were: “Callum Turner should be in more romances,” which is exactly what we’re getting with One Night Only (2026) this summer, and it’s thrilling not to have to wait too long. The concept of Eternityis gorgeously compelling, the heart is present throughout, and every moment of its spin on the afterlife delivers a nuanced take on a love triangle, which is generally my least favorite trope.

Starring alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller, Turner brings his A-game, with each actor layering their characters in an incredibly captivating manner during the film’s short timeframe. It’s fun, thoughtful, and genuinely a refreshing kind of romance for anyone who loves the genre.

    Masters of the Air
    Masters of the Air

As a limited series that explored the aerial wars during World War II through the men of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, Masters of the Air was a remarkable limited series that slowly and carefully explored character journeys through thoughtful and haunting depictions. It’s not the kind of show viewers who typically don’t like war-centric stories would enjoy, and while Turner has a substantial role in it, he isn’t enough to do the persuading if you can’t stomach heavier content.

However, if the genre is something you typically appreciate, then it’s worth checking out for all that it accomplishes in delivering a worthy adaptation of Donald L. Miller’s novel of the same name. It’s dense at times, heartbreaking, raw, and yet it’s a moving limited series that deserves to be seen at least once.

    The Boys in the Boat
    The Boys in the Boat

Unlike Masters of the Air,The Boys in the Boat might be better suited for people who typically don’t engage with biographical sports dramas but would still like to watch something for an actor. The fact that it’s a movie makes it easier to watch and appreciate, not to mention that George Clooney’s vision as a director is actually riveting throughout.

Following the University of Washington rowing team, Callum Turner does an enamoring job of embodying the stamina, grit, and heart necessary to ensure that the entire journey feels believable. (And he’s not the only one because the entire cast delivers something worthy here, too!) It’s the kind of movie that easily evokes something hopeful in viewers, and it deserves more attention than it got during its initial release. If you love emotional stories about endurance, look no further.

    One Night Only
    One Night Only

The moment the concept of One Night Onlywas announced, I knew I was invested. A rom-com starring Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro set in New York? I’ve never been more seated. The trailers look like an absolute blast, and the concept of a Purge-like romance where sex is banned except for one night of the year is absurd, and yet, there are plenty of opportunities to deliver tension in a thrilling way.

The movie itself can be a total wild card in how great it is, or it can be mediocre at best, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Turner and Barbaro are about to bring their best, ensuring that if nothing else, the movie is an absolute blast through and through. Plus, the trailers make it looknostalgic, and that’s enough for someone like me who’s missing ’90s New York rom-coms.

    Neuromancer
    Neuromancer

Based on the best-selling cyberpunk novel by William Gibson, Neuromanceris a staple of the genre and one that Hollywood has been trying to adapt for quite some time now. Finally set to release on Apple TV next year, with Callum Turner at the helm, the limited series can either be extraordinary given how long it’s been, or a mixed bag because the novel itself is fairly complex.

While Turner can surely do a great job of bringing the character to life in a memorable way, this is one of the stories that’s going to need a lot of attention on the screenplay as well. Still, for those who love cyberpunk sci-fi, it’ll surely be worth checking out when it finally premieres early next year.
