Brooke Hogan will always honor her father’s legacy. But that doesn’t mean they had a perfect relationship.
Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan‘s eldest child with his first wife, Linda Hogan, is looking back on a torrid chapter in Hogan family history — when details of Hulk’s affair with one of Brooke’s friends came to light in the lead-up to his divorce from Linda.
“A major turning point came after he slept with my friend Christiane [Plante],” Brooke tells Us Weekly. “I forgive people very easily — sometimes probably too easily — and I forgave him, but something between us changed afterward. I don’t think he ever related to me in quite the same way again.”
The end of the 2000s was a rough time for the Hogans. Plante, a close friend of Brooke’s, came clean about her affair with the wrestler born Terry Bollea in 2008. “My relationship with Terry began at a time when Terry and Linda privately knew their marriage was ending… She had left him already, although no official papers had been filed,” Christiane told the National Enquirerthat year (per TODAY).
Hulk and Linda wouldn’t divorce until the following year, bringing their 24-year marriage to a close. “There were infidelities. It scared me because I thought ‘Oh my God, is that my fault? Is he moving on? Am I just a dumb housewife? Am I too fat, am I too dumb?’ You just start doubting yourself and that was really sad,” Linda told Good Morning Americaat the time.

After the divorce, Brooke tells Us Weeklythat the “entire family structure changed… Over time, things became increasingly complicated until eventually the relationship I had always believed could survive anything couldn’t survive what was happening around us anymore. That’s probably the biggest thing I wish people understood about the Hogan family: Public perception reduces families into heroes and villains. Real families aren’t that simple.”
Though she still harbors hurt over her dad’s actions, Brooke says those feelings don’t cancel out all the love: “I can love my father profoundly and still tell the truth about where he hurt me.”
Hulk Hogan died on July 24, 2025 at the age of 71. Brooke poured her heart out in the wake of here father’s death, which was later determined to be caused by a heart attack.
“My Dearest Daddy, You were my everything, and I will always be your girl,” Brooke wrote on social media at the time. “I am PROUD to be your daughter—for all the love, light, and goodness you brought into this world. Thank you for choosing me in this lifetime, and for loving me so deeply.”
