Brand new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer released, confirmed for late 2027, anime series announced

Two major Kingdom Hearts announcements were just made with Kingdom Hearts 4 confirmed for late 2027 and a new anime series on the way.
Kingdom Hearts 4 was shown off at D23 minutes ago. In the latest trailer, we learn that Pixar’s Coco will be one of the featured worlds.

The Kingdom Hearts news doesn’t stop there. Also at D23, Kingdom Hearts: The Series was revealed. This is an original anime inspired by the video game franchise. It will appear on Disney+ upon release.

There’s something really exciting about taking a world fans have spent years exploring through the games and bringing it to life in a completely new way. And with a creative team that is working closely with the legendary Tetsuya Nomura, our new series will be unmistakably Kingdom Hearts, while giving fans a whole new way to experience the world they love.”
Creator Tetsuya Nomura is confirmed to be involved with the upcoming show. This will “expand on the universe of Kingdom Hearts while celebrating the characters that have captured the hearts of millions of fans around the world.”
Kingdom Hearts 4 is planned to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside all other platforms. We have more news about the system here.
