Deepika Padukone not part of Brahmastra 2, official spokesperson issues clarification

Deepika Padukone’s spokesperson has denied reports claiming she will be part of Brahmastra 2. Ranbir Kapoor will reprise Shiva and Dev in the sequel, while Alia Bhatt will return as Isha

Ranbir Kapoor is currently on a roll with several mega-budget projects in his kitty. After Ramayana and Love and War, the actor will gear up for Brahmastra 2. The Astraverse is expanding, and reports were rife that makers had approached Deepika Padukone to join the film. Now, an official spokesperson has denied her association with the project.
Deepika not a part of Brahmastra 2
Deepika Padukone’s spokesperson said, “All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue.”
During the original film’s end, it was teased that Deepika Padukone would play Amruta, Ranbir’s Shiva’s mother. However, her involvement was never officially confirmed by the makers. The actor had a blink-and-miss appearance in the film.
Ranbir Kapoor will reprise Shiva and Dev in the sequel and is expected to begin filming in April 2027, after wrapping Ramayana: Part 2. Alia Bhatt will also return as Isha. Scripting and pre-production are underway.
About Brahmastra 2
On Alia Bhatt’s birthday, Ranbir dropped a big hint about Brahmastra 2 and said, “It is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time. He is currently working on War 2. Once this releases, he will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but then some really interesting announcements (will be made soon) regarding Brahmastra 2,” Ranbir said.
In October 2025, Ayan Mukerji had shared some pictures from a getaway in the mountains. Fans saw a script with him and guessed that he might be working on “Brahmastra 2”. While he did not explicitly mention the movie, the hashtags of Part 2 and Om left fans intrigued.
Ranbir and Alia upcoming movies
Ranbir is currently gearing up for the release of Ramayana Part 1, which is set to release in Diwali 2026. He is promoting the film along with Namit Malhotra, Nitesh Tiwari and Yash. The cast was recently present at Comic Con. Apart from this, Ranbir has Love and War with Alia Bhatt, which will release in 2027. He also has Animal Park in his kitty. The actor had denied his association with Dhoom 4.
