The aftermath of Inglorious X-Force is leaving Marvel’s premier mutant strike team branded as murderers—and taking cover in the shadows.
Spinning directly out of October’s Inglorious finale, Marvel Comics has officially announced Fugitive X-Force, a new five-issue limited series launching this December. Writer Tim Seeley returns to continue his high-stakes saga alongside rising artist Áthila Fabbio, winner of the Marvel Art Atelier program making his official Marvel series debut.
The Premise: Framed, Leaderless, and Out of Time
When Cable disappears after his mind is compromised, founding member Boom-Boom steps up to lead X-Force for the very first time. However, her promotion arrives under dire circumstances: the team has been framed for a horrific crime, leaving them on the run from both the law and their fellow mutants.
“FUGITIVE X-FORCE is a natural extension of INGLORIOUS, following up with the ramifications of the events of that series, with the militant, mutant strikeforce forced to pick up the pieces and move on,” writer Tim Seeley explained. “But now, they’re on their own, wanted for murder, and hanging on by a thread. But, they’ve got something going for them, TABITHA SMITH—NEW LEADER! Boom-Boom has years of experience watching Cable work. She’s his best pupil in blowing things up…and she also looks great in very big shoulder pads.”
With the odds stacked against them, Tabitha leads a roster consisting of Archangel, Hellverine, Domino, and Ms. Marvel into hiding. As Domino races to track down Cable, the fugitive squad must stay alive long enough to uncover what happened to their former leader before his latest crisis destroys everything.
“I grew up in the ‘90s so Wolverine and Nightcrawler were my favorite characters—until I saw Cable!” artist Áthila Fabbio shared. “I’m entering the world of X-Force with the same excitement I felt back then… I’m having a blast working with Tim Seeley and drawing what unfolds on these pages, and I hope readers enjoy it too!
