Black Widow and White Widow are heading back into the shadows of the Red Room. Marvel Comics has officially announced Black Widow: Black, White & Red Room, a new four-issue limited series that brings Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova together for stories tied to their shared assassin past. The storyline also pairs Yelena with Daredevil.
Each issue will feature three stories, giving the series a wider look at the Red Room. One follows Natasha, another centers on Yelena, and the third looks at other characters linked to the organization.
The first issue is set to hit comic shops in the coming months. Stephanie Phillips and Giuseppe Camuncoli tell Natasha’s heist story, while Devin Grayson and JG Jones bring Yelena together with Daredevil.

Marvel expands the Red Room story beyond Natasha Romanoff
The third story in the opening issue focuses on Nadia Van Dyne, also known as the Unstoppable Wasp. Jeremy Whitley and Bradley Clayton tell the story of her escape from the Red Room, adding another character to its history.
The Black Widow: Black, White and Red Room series will also feature creators such as Peach Momoko and Sam Humphries in future issues. Their stories will further explore the characters and world connected to the Red Room.
Grayson spoke about revisiting the character of Yelena. She said, “Creating superhero comics is intensely collaborative. Returning to Yelena now [more than twenty years after J.G. and I first introduced her] is like joining a dynamic round-robin with everyone from esteemed colleagues to Black Widow filmmakers.”
Grayson also explained why Daredevil became part of Yelena’s story and said, “When I heard the story would be in the black, white, and red format, I immediately thought of Daredevil and how overdue and fascinating a team-up between them would be. We always have to think about comic stories visually, and to have a strong, compelling stylistic note like this is a creative gift.”
The new series continues Marvel’s Black, White & Blood format with a broader focus. Its #1 issue goes on sale December 16, 2026, and is available for preorder at local comic book shops.
