In our previous comic book news round-up, Zatannabecame the Prime Magus, new information came up in The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace No. 2 among so much more. Yes, it was a big week in the world of comics, and this week maintains that momentum.

This week, Image Comics, Marvel, and DC all have important moments that need mentioning. With that in mind, let’s start with what may be the most shocking.

    Wait, is that really him?

    • Title:She-SpawnNo. 1
    • Writer: Gail Simone
    • Artist: Ig Guara
    • Colors: Robert Nugent

Jessica Priest (She-Spawn) was charged with saving a kid from a cult so that he could grow up and save the world. She wasn’t told who the boy was or how he’d grow up and be a savior. All Jessica knew was that saving the world protected her daughter.

After beating and killing some of the attackers, Jessica tells the kid he is safe and asks for his name, and he says it’s Al Simmons. For the uninformed, Al Simmons is Spawn and also an adult.

    The Danvers’ family

    • Title:Captain Marvel: Dark PastNo. 2
    • Writer: Paul Jenkins
    • Artist: Lucas Werneck
    • Colors: Rod Fernandes

Writer Paul Jenkins gave readers a look into the Danvers family’s past, and it isn’t pretty. Unlike Carol Danvers (a.k.a. Captain Marvel), her father’s side is full of hateful people who have fought with some evil groups. Now, because Carol is half-alien on her mother’s side, those same people are looking to kill her. The irony is they’re using technology from the same aliens that disgust them.

    No more Wayne Manor

    • Title:BatmanNo. 9
    • Writer: Matt Fraction
    • Artist: Ryan Sook
    • Inker: Wade Von Grawbadger
    • Colors: Tomeu Morey

During Batman Nos. 137 and 138, readers learn that longtime villain Vandal Savage bought Wayne Manor while Bruce Wayne was broke. It was a disgusting, but smart move, and it was shocking that Bruce allowed him to live there as long as he did. Well, Batman and Damian Wayne put an end to that by blowing up Bruce’s childhood home.

    The world’s greatest shot

    • Title:Fantastic FourNo. 10
    • Writer: Ryan North
    • Penciler: Humberto Ramos
    • Inker: Victor Olazaba
    • Colors: Edgar Delgado

The Fantastic Four were on the other side of the universe and needed to get back quickly. The Sorcerer Supreme, Wanda Maximoff, could make it happen. But first, she needs to aim the spell at their spaceship, which is also moving at light speed. Wanda is a miracle worker, but even she’s not that good. Luckily, she doesn’t have to take the shot. Wanda and Maria Hill get Bullseye to aim and shoot the spell. And, of course, he doesn’t miss, thus hitting the greatest shot ever.

Moon Knight’s going to kill a what?!

    • Title:Marc Spector: Moon KnightNo. 4
    • Writer: Jed MacKay
    • Artist: Dev Pramanik
    • Colors: Rachelle Rosenberg

Moon Knight spent almost three weeks captured by French spies (and Raoul Bushman) who were looking for information on Marc’s former friend and teammate, Jean-Paul “Frenchie” Duchamp. While he was gone, Moon Knight’s team disappeared into a mystical building. How will Marc Spector get them back? He’s going to kill a building with an Asgardian sword that’s inhabited by a dragon that steals souls. Yes, you read that correctly.

    Who created the Peacemaker?!

    • Title:Absolute SupermanNo. 19
    • Writer: Jason Aaron
    • Artist: Rafa Sandoval
    • Colors: Ulises Arreola

The Lazarus Corp Peacemakers have weapons that can stop Superman in his tracks. In the recent issue of Absolute Superman, readers learn that the John Henry Irons of this universe helped create one of their weapons. His “peacemaker,” as he called it, was supposed to safely stop people, and he was told it was worth millions. Sadly, it wasn’t used for peace, and he’s working hard for less than minimum wage.

    A bargain was made

    • Title:BatgirlNo 19
    • Writer: Tate Brombal
    • Penciler: Takeshi Miyazawa
    • Inkers: Takeshi Miyazawa and Juan Castro
    • Colors: Mike Spicer

An excess of energy after the Heart of Darkseid Tournament leads to someone cursing Cassandra Cain’s blood to become a weapon. In order to have the curse removed, she made a deal with an ancient deity in the underworld. What that is remains to be seen, but the adventure will certainly be good.

    The writer of omens

    • Title:Wade Wilson: DeadpoolNo. 4
    • Writer: Benjamin Percy
    • Artist: Geoff Shaw
    • Colors: Alex Sinclair

Deadpool started getting letters about the future at the beginning of this series, but no one knew where they were coming from. I assumed that it was Wade’s daughter, Ellie, writing them from the future. I couldn’t have been more wrong. This whole time, Blind Al was sending them. I wonder if she’s getting the messages from one of Deadpool’s old friends and precog, Montgomery.
