    • Asa Germann will play Angel in Marvel’s untitled X-Men movie.
    • Inde Navarrette, Sadie Sink, Kit Connor and Adam Driver are aboard.
    • The film will be in theaters in May 2028.

While we learned the bulk of the key casting for Marvel’s refreshed take on the iconic mutant X-Men team recently (more on that lower down the page), everyone assumed that there was more to come.

And that turned out to be true, with The Hollywood Reporter bringing word that ‘Scream 7’ and ‘Gen V’ actor Asa Germann is in final talks –– no firm conment from Marvel or Disney yet, naturally –– to play Warren Worthington III, AKA Angel.

Who is Angel in the X-Men comics?

The character, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was introduced in the very first issue of “X-Men” back in 1963. Among his attributes are feathered wings on his back, giving him the ability to fly. During one part of his history, Angel was maimed and his wings were replaced by metal projectile-shooting wings by the villain Apocalypse.

Angel has appeared twice before on the big-screen: Ben Foster played him in 2006’s ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ while Ben Hardy played him in 2016’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse.’ Somewhere, Ben Schwartz (‘Sonic the Hedgehog’) is probably fuming at the missed opportunity to continue the naming tradition!

Who else is in the new X-Men movie?

The cast, as so far confirmed at this year’s D23 event includes Sadie Sink (Jean Grey), Kit Connor (Cyclops), Christopher Abbott (Prof. X), Samara Weaving (Emma Frost), Inde Navarrette (Rogue) and Maya Boyd (Storm), with Adam Driver as the villain Mr. Sinister.

Germann was actually originally up to play Cyclops, but while Connor nabbed that role, Marvel bosses were impressed enough to offer him Angel instead.

The movie will be in theaters on May 5th, 2028.
