Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s life change is a little more than clear than ever.
After multipleoutlets reported the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were moving back to the U.K. with their kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, E! News has learned they won’t be permanently relocating. Rather, the family of four will be overseas for an extended period of time.
Indeed, though the family of four is set to settle across the pond again for an undetermined period, E! News has confirmed Markle’s mom Doria Raglandwill stay in Los Angeles. The pair are reportedly also set to keep their home in Montecito, Calif., as well as their vacation property in Portugal and are not expected to resume their royal duties.
The latest update on the couple—who stepped back from royal duties in 2020—comes just one day after their surprising move was announced and a little over a month after kids Lilibet and Archie reunited withKing Charles III.

Prior to their summer reunion, Harry expressed that he was hesitant to return home at one point, especially Having lost his appeal countering the U.K. government’s decision to deny him security protection.
“I can’t see a world where I would be bringing my wife and kids back to the U.K. at this point,” he told the BBC in May 2025. “And the things that they’re going to miss is well, everything. I love my country. I always have, despite what some people in that country have done.”
That said, Harry was optimistic one day he and his family—including brother Prince William—would come back together again, especially after Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC at the time. “I will always. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. I don’t know how much time my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
