Apple has revealed to local Vision Pro owners that six upcoming Lakers games will be streamed live in Apple Immersive format.
The live schedule will feature multiple angles from Crypto.com Arena and one game from Ball Arena. Some angles are closer than courtside seats, with wide-field stereoscopic views including “the scorer’s table, the area under each basket, a high, wide view of the arena, the player tunnel, the broadcast booth, and a walking courtside perspective for interviews and commentary.” We want to know how Lakers fans feel about watching these games live, with them being aired on TV at the same time for most everyone else.
The schedule is as follows.
Friday, January 9 – Milwaukee Bucks vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 7:30pm PT Thursday, February 5th – Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 7:00pm PT Friday, February 20th – Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 7:00pm PT Thursday, March 5th – Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets – 7:00pm PT Tuesday, March 10th – Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 8:00 PM PT Monday, March 30 – Washington Wizards vs. Los Angeles Lakers – 7:00 PM PT
NextVR’s full broadcast schedule from 2016 can be compared here on UploadVR. Reports at the time stated that a free trial was offered ahead of the full broadcast schedule locked into NBA League Pass.
Here’s the NBA’s complete NextVR live broadcast schedule for this season
NextVR has previously raised significant funding through large investment rounds, including $30 million and an additional $80 million, to continue broadcasting live in VR. Earlier this month, we reported that the startup took a big step and entered a full-time distribution schedule with the NBA. Now,
Apple then acquired the “leading broadcaster of VR events” and the technology was reborn as Apple Immersive. The company has invested heavily in broadcast rights and equipped sports venues with immersive camera systems that can provide a better view than a front row seat. For 2026’s “Spectrum Front Row,” Apple, the NBA, and Charter Communications will require some kind of authentication to watch live broadcasts on headsets.
“In Southern California, Hawaii, and parts of Nevada, Spectrum Internet customers and provider video subscribers with packages that include Spectrum SportsNet can access live games, full game replays, and highlights by downloading the new Spectrum SportsNet app for Apple Vision Pro and authenticating an active subscription. Users with a free NBA ID can also access live games, full game replays, and highlights through the NBA app.”
Post-game replays should be available as early as 24 hours after each live game in markets where Apple Vision Pro is sold, with the first replay available on Sunday, January 11th.
