Anime Expo 2026has already come and gone, but there are plenty of details to dig into from the four-day-long event. In terms of panels, there were some cool ones, including the one inwhichMob Psycho 100’sdirector reflected on the anime’s incredible ending, another in whichthe cast ofCyberpunk: Edgerunnershyped up itssecond season, and uh… one in whichthe creator ofDanganronpa 2×2told fans to playGrand Theft Auto 6while they wait for its release
In terms of trailers, though, there are way too many to cover.Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventureis coming back in September, we got a little teaser trailer forWitch Hat Atelier’ssecond season, and a new trailer forStar Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi. However, those weren’t technically announcements, as we’ve known they’ve been in production for a while now
So, instead, let’s go over the six biggest reveals at the event—the real juicy stuff that we didn’t know about beforehand. Hope you’ve got some vacation dayssummer line-up looked exhausting to keep up with…
Solo Leveling is getting a movie
Considering how divisiveSolo Levelingis amongst anime fans, it’s probably best we get this out of the way first.Solo Levelingis getting a theatrical film, titledSolo Leveling: Beyond the System, that will serve as the canon continuation of the story and will pick up from where season two of the anime left off
There’s no release date in sight, but we did get ateaser trailer. Usually I’d assume that most of those very realistic-looking shots are either live-action or CGI, but considering what animators A-1 Pictures are capable of, there’s a non-zero chance that’s not the case. The only other thing we can confirm at this point is thatSolo Leveling: Beyond the Systemwill be co-produced by Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media and Kakao Piccoma
Persona 4 Revival’s cutscenes are being animated by MAPPA
Speaking of A-1 Pictures, we received a lot of info about Atlus’ upcomingPersona 4remake,Persona 4 Revival. Atlus showed off some newcostumesand merch, and announced that Abby Trott, who voiced Tae Takemi inPersona 5 Royal, will voice Rise Kujikawa in thePersona 4remake
Lights, camera, MAPPA! 🎞️

However, the biggest announcement was that MAPPA, the animation studio behindJujutsu KaisenandChainsaw Man, will be taking over animation duties forPersona 4 Revival. This isn’t the first time that Atlus has hired a big-name studio to produce the cutscenes for aPersona 4game—actually, it’s not even the second time. The original release ofPersona 4featured cutscenes animated by both Studio Hibari and A-1 Pictures, andPersona 4 Goldeneven featured an opening animated by Madhouse, so it’s really no surprise that Atlus brought out the big guns for the remake.
Delicious in Dungeon‘s second season finally gets a release date
As far as its anime content is concerned, Netflix has produced some bangers in the past few years. But, if you ask me, the best Netflix-exclusive anime has always been Studio Trigger’sDelicious in Dungeon(Dungeon Meshi). However, if you can believe it, the first (and currently only) season of the anime adaptation premiered two and a half years ago, which is whyDelicious in Dungeonfans have been climbing up the walls during the wait for the second season

Season 2 of #DeliciousinDungeon has been announced at #AX2026!

Well, unfortunately, they’ll be waiting a lot longer forDelicious in Dungeonto return, but at least now they have a release date. It’s roughly 15 months away, as season two will exclusively be dropping on Netflix sometime in October 2027. It’s a long wait, especially considering how long fans already waited, but hey—animation of this kind of quality takes a while
The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All is dropping in January 2027
An anime adaptation ofSumiko Arai’s 2022 manga was announced back in 2025, but we hadn’t heard much since…that is, until its January 2027 release date was announced alongside a new trailer
While the manga is ridiculously popular, I think the reason this announcement received so much hype during Anime Expo 2026 is mostly due to the choice of song in the recently released teaser trailer. It’s not unheard of for an anime to use a big Western song in its opening, but hearing Nirvana’sBreedstill surprised me nonetheless. Apparently the mangareferences a lot of licensed tracks, so this is a good sign for fans that CloverWorks’ adaptation is going to be a faithful one
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is coming to Crunchyroll
It’s almost been a whole year sinceDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castlereleased in theaters on July 18, 2025…and it’s still not available to buy on Blu-Ray. That’s not the norm for anime movies, but perhaps it shouldn’t be too surprising when you take into account that the film made almost $800 million at the box office. It was the seventh highest-grossing film of 2025, beating out the likes ofSuperman,F1,andHow to Train Your Dragon
Get ready to experience the epic battles all over again! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I heads to Crunchyroll July 28! #AX2026@DemonSlayerUSA

Thankfully, the Blu-ray and DVD release ofDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castledrops on July 29, but for the time being, it’s a Japan-exclusive release. Don’t worry about paying some ridiculous import fees to get hold of it, however, as it will finally be coming to streaming a day before, on July 28, exclusively on Crunchyroll
Studio Bones’ Fate Rewinder Is Releasing In April 2027
If you’ve not heard ofFate Rewinder, then you’re in for a treat when it releases next year, as Fūta Kimura’s time-traveling action-comedy manga is a straight-up banger. However, we’ve all been burned by terrible adaptations in the past (sorry,One Punch Manfans), which is why it’s nice to have the legendary animation studio Bones, which is behind the likes ofMob Psycho 100,Fullmetal Alchemist, andGachiakuta, at the helm on this one
This is the first time we’ve heard aboutFate Rewinder’sadaptation since a vague initial announcement toward the end of 2025. The long wait was worth it, though, as Anime Expo 2026 treated us to a trailer and an April 2027 release date. There’s a lot to look forward to next year, but given how great the manga is and how much animation prestige this one has behind it,Fate Rewinderis already shaping up to be 2027’s most exciting releases
