Yash`s Toxic has sparked an online debate after a viral post showed a young child inside an A-rated screening. Social media users questioned whether parents or theatre management should be held accountable, with many calling for stricter enforcement of age restrictions

Yash and Kiara Advani’s Toxichit theatres today, and while fans turned up for the action, drama and big-screen spectacle, one viral post from inside a cinema has sparked a completely different conversation online. The debate isn’t about the film itself but about a young child allegedly being brought into a screening of the A-rated movie.

A photo shared on X showed a small child sitting on a woman’s lap inside a theatre. The image quickly caught the attention of social media users after a moviegoer shared his concern about the experience.

“My theatre anxiety is peaking as a little child is sitting next to me. And this is an adult movie with violence and A rated scenes. Parents stop bringing your kids to Adult films! Please…” he wrote.

The post soon triggered a flood of reactions, with several users questioning how a child was allowed into a screening meant exclusively for adults as the movie contains intimate scenes.

While some users directed their criticism at the parents, “I swear everytime when I went to watch a movie someone or the other brings their child and they keep screaming the entire show.” Many also questioned the theatre’s responsibility in enforcing age restrictions. One user wrote, “Report it to police. This theatre needs to shut down.”

Another asked how children are managing to enter such screenings in the first place if age checks are being carried out properly at the entrance. “How could the theatre allow a child into an A rated movie. That’s seriously concerning and completely unacceptable,” read one comment.

Parents vs cinemas

Not everyone agreed, however. A user defended parents saying, “They are the new generation; they have already seen worse. Focus on the movie lol.”

But the bigger issue being raised isn’t just what children watch at home. It is whether theatres are properly enforcing the rules attached to an A certificate.

One user even recalled a similar incident during Dhurandharmovie, claiming that a family argued with security after their child was denied entry, while another family allegedly brought a baby to a screening.

As the viral post continues to circulate, Toxic has inadvertently reignited the debate over who should be held accountable when children enter adult-only screenings – parents, theatre management or both. The movie is directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars Yash, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and more in pivotal roles. The movie is screening in theatres now.
