The Blood of Dawnwalker developer Rebel Wolves recently offered a detailed look at the game’s console version, specifically showing footage running at two different resolution and framerate targets.

The original gameplay trailer, which has since been removed, featured footage from <a href="https://comicvibe.com/underrated-2022-ps5-adventure-game-just-3-99-on-playstation-store/” title=”Underrated 2022 PS5 Adventure Game Just $3.99 on PlayStation Store”>PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, detailing a 30fps Quality Mode mode at a dynamic 4K resolution, and a 40fps Balanced Mode also targeting a dynamic 4K resolution.

What was supposed to be a celebratory moment for the team turned sour as players took issue with the lack of a 60fps mode. Now, the studio has clarified that a 60fps mode is indeed in the works, and will be available as part of the game’s day one patch.

The Performance Mode targets 60fps across PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X. In fact, the only difference between the three consoles is that PS5 Pro will “provide overall visual enhancements”. Series S, on the other hand, is capped at 30fps.

“On Friday, we answered your questions about console performance with what we knew we could confidently deliver at launch,” the developer said in a statement on X. “Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet.”

“We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day one.”

The Blood of Dawnwalker is set for release 3rd September on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Eurogamer’s Robert Purchese recently spent four hours playing the vampire action role-playing game, and was particularly impressed with how the game utilises 30-day in-game time limit as both a framing device and a consequential gameplay mechanic.
