Are your PC games not working as expected? Microsoft says it’s investigating an issue with its latest Windows 11 updates that may be behind problems affecting at least three popular tiles.
According to a new <a href="https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-25h2#microsoft-has-received-reports-of-certain-games-becoming-unresponsive” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>support center message from Microsoft, it is investigating whether the latest Windows 11 updates, first released on Aug. 11, may be causing issues with titles Arc Raiders, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and The Finals.
Microsoft says the reports involve a “limited number of games,” suggesting the issue may also be broader than these three titles.
The notification says reports indicate games became unresponsive and sometimes closed without any notice to the player. Others said their computers restarted without any warning.
Other reports saw players greeted with the message, “EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION” with no clear path to fix it. It’s unclear whether there is any way for players to address the problems or whether they persist when a game is restarted.
