Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO will reveal new information in a special program streamed worldwide on October 9.
A special program announcing new information about the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, a prequel to the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, will be streamed simultaneously worldwide on the YouTube channel Gundam Channel from 4:45 a.m. on October 9. The program will deliver the same latest information presented during a panel event at New York Comic Con 2026.
Gundam Series Panel to Be Held at New York Comic Con 2026
A Gundam series panel event will also be held at the NYCC venue. The panel will present the latest information about Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO together with special guests.
It will also introduce the current state and future of the Gundam series, including upcoming developments planned in Japan and overseas.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO is a prequel to the film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, which opened in Japan on January 26, 2024. Its story is based on a scenario written by series composition writer Chiaki Morosawa and Shigeru Morita during the planning stage of SEED FREEDOM.
About the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series began airing in October 2002 and ran for 50 episodes. It was the first Gundam television series produced in the 21st century.
The story depicts a war between genetically modified humans known as Coordinators and unmodified humans known as Naturals, who fight on opposing sides as ZAFT and the Earth Alliance. Through the conflict, the story follows the struggles and growth of protagonist Kira Yamato, who is himself a Coordinator.
In addition to its existing fan base, the series attracted a large female audience and recorded a peak television rating of 8.0 percent. It also sparked a second Gunpla boom, particularly among elementary school children, and became widely popular as a new generation Gundam series.
The sequel television series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY began airing in October 2004 and recorded a peak rating of 8.2 percent, surpassing its predecessor. Combined package sales for the series exceeded four million units. Its popularity also expanded beyond television anime into music, events, and other areas across Japan.
