Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override brings Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man and more
Green Hill Zone is taking over part of the island, but Sonic is only the beginning of Fortnite’s enormous gaming guest list.
Fortnite has opened the floodgates for Chapter 7 Season 4, and apparently just about every corner of gaming is invited. Epic Games has finally dropped the full Override trailer, giving us our first proper look at the new season before it arrives on 20 August. Sonic the Hedgehog is taking over part of the island with Green Hill Zone, while Persona 5, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and several more games are piling into an already enormous crossover lineup.
Sora is also officially along for the ride. A Kingdom Hearts crossover has been rumoured for months, and the official artwork for Override finally shows him in Fortnite with a Keyblade in hand. The trailer throws in a few more surprises on top of that, which includes characters from other games as well.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 map changes
The Override trailer starts with the island going very wrong, very quickly. The glitching seen in earlier teasers has spread across the map, with the island seemingly hacked and pieces of other games starting to break through.
Sonic has made the biggest impact so far. Green Hill Zone is now part of the Fortnite map, complete with its loops, checkerboard cliffs and Rings scattered around the new point of interest. There is also a new Spin Dash Mythic item that lets players curl into a ball and speed across the map. Sonic himself is part of the Battle Pass, but Green Hill Zone and one of his signature moves are getting worked directly into matches as well.
He’s not the only game starting to spill onto the island. Tetris blocks appear throughout the trailer, while Pac-Man elements can also be spotted among the changes. Epic hasn’t shown exactly what every one of those additions involve yet, leaving some of Override’s map as surprises for the season itself.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 crossover skins and characters
Kingdom Hearts’ Sora is finally making his Fortnite debut, alongside Persona 5’s Joker, Mega Man and Crash Bandicoot. Spyro is coming in as a Sidekick. The new faces aren’t the entire lineup. Master Chief, Lara Croft, Geralt and Street Fighter are among the previous gaming crossovers returning during Chapter 7 Season 4.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass
Sonic is one of the big Battle Pass pulls for Override, with his skin available when the new season begins. Tetris is also part of the Battle Pass, because apparently Fortnite has figured out how to turn falling blocks into an outfit too. Other Sonic characters are coming separately. Dr. Eggman and Shadow will get their own skins, Rush will appear as a Sidekick, and Tails is represented by a Glider.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 skins and cosmetics
Most of the other crossovers revealed for Override are coming to the Item Shop throughout the season, rather than as part of the Battle Pass. Some of these cosmetics will return from previous seasons.
Here’s what’s been revealed so far:
- Sonic the Hedgehog: Dr. Eggman and Shadow skins, Rush Sidekick and Tails Glider
- Kingdom Hearts: Sora skin and Keyblade Pickaxe
- Persona 5: Joker skin and Morgana cosmetic
- Mega Man: Mega Man skin
- Crash Bandicoot: Crash Bandicoot skin
- Spyro the Dragon: Spyro Sidekick

- 99 Nights in the Forest: The Deer skin

- Street Fighter: returning skins
- The Witcher: Geralt skin

Epic hasn’t announced individual release dates or prices for those Item Shop cosmetics yet.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override release date
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override starts on 20 August, 2026, when the new map changes and Battle Pass will go live. Sonic and Tetris will be available through the Battle Pass from launch.
Most of the other crossovers revealed in the trailer are coming later through the Item Shop, rather than all dropping on 20 August. Epic hasn’t announced their individual release dates yet, so they’ll appear at different points throughout Chapter 7 Season 4.
