Hello anime enthusiasts, this might be great news for some anime fans, as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity is now finally in the Top 10 highest-rated anime. But sadly, it has taken the place of one of the iconic shows, Hunter x Hunter, down to No. 11. Yes! You read that right.
It might be shocking for some because Hunter x Hunter might be your favourite one, but the newly updated list of top 10 best anime is now shared by VIZ Media on social media, where the company thanked fans for their continued support.
So, you can check out which anime made it to the list. But we are here to analyse how Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity got a spot on the list, so keep on reading!
Bleach: TYBW Takes Hunter x Hunter’s Spot in MyAnimeList’s Top 10:
Despite Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity and Hunter x Hunter currently having a similar kind of rating with a 9.03 rating on MyAnimeList, the positions given to them on the list vary.
MyAnimeList doesn’t work with just an average score to rank anime, but it also includes the number of user ratings and its weighted ranking system.
The same thing has happened to several other titles mentioned in the Top 10. Gintama: The Final, Gintama Season 4, and Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 all have a 9.05 rating, yet they are ranked at No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9, respectively.
With the rankings being not stable, the fans are continuing to rate and review these shows. The current MyAnimeList Top 10 can be seen below:

Bleach: TYBW — The Calamity Is Quickly Becoming 2026’s Biggest Anime Hit:
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity brings the current Bleach anime series to its conclusion.
The series continues the Thousand-Year Blood War, adds new story content, and keeps on expanding on the world building of Bleach. The previous seasons concluded with a major cliffhanger, leading directly into this final chapter.
The story showcases the final battle between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies. Yhwach and his strongest soldiers try to enter the Royal Palace, but Squad Zero stands between them. However, Yhwach and his Royal Guard manage to defeat them and enter the palace.
Soon after the Soul King dies, the balance between the Three Worlds begins to fall apart. Strange things and signs of destruction begin to appear across all the realms. The Thirteen Court Guard Squads team up with the remaining Quincies and make their way to the Royal Palace.
But to the surprise, the palace was already under the control of Wandenreich, who had turned it into the Wahr Welt. The Royal Guard waits inside as the final battle gets closer.
Also, if you like to binge it, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity is currently available to stream on Hulu.
