Here’s a weird one: while we’re used to seeing servers for online platforms like the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live take a hit and prevent people from gaming online, today’s outage is a different animal for Xbox gamers.
For starters, the servers are functional now, and gamers can connect to Xbox and play online. However, there are issues with the Xbox Store, and even rewards redemption is affected too for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
Xbox Rewards Redemption Issues for Ultimate Subscribers Happening on August 8
If you’re an Ultimate Game Pass subscriber, you might have encountered an issue or two when it comes to redeeming rewards.
The official Xbox Support X account acknowledged the issue, stating, “We’re aware some XBOX players are having trouble redeeming Rewards points due to issues recognizing active Ultimate subscriptions. The team is investigating and working to get things back to normal as soon as possible.”
This doesn’t seem to affect online gaming for the most part, which is good news. If there’s any update from the Xbox team, we’ll update the article with the info.
In other Xbox news, the disc-to-digital system is said to be launching later this month, though Microsoft has yet to say anything about it.
There are also other features set to hit Xbox gamers soon, such as faster game download speeds and more.
